Atanniuvik will be Nunavik’s new research governance organization led by Inuit, for Inuit. Atanniuvik, an Arctic Inspiration Prize laureate, is supported by a strong partnership between many regional organizations and the Atanniuvik team is actively working towards an operational launch in 2025. A major initiative under Atanniuvik is the development of a new research management software system with a public-facing atlas of all research in or about Nunavik. Access to centralized information about past research will be essential for informed decision-making in Atanniuvik’s research review process, will help researchers avoid duplicating research, and will enhance Nunavimmiut access to research information about us and our communities.
The Atanniuvik Steering Committee is seeking Expressions of Interest for gathering and analyzing retrospective research project information for inclusion in Atanniuvik’s atlas, including project metadata and descriptive information about projects and project outputs (e.g. links to publications). We are seeking one research group to lead this project, but other groups/teams may contribute by focusing on research in their area of research speciality. The first phase of this work should focus on the recent past (10-20 years), with subsequent phases extending further back in time.
Submissions should include:
- Background and relevant experience of research team
- Proposed approach and timeline
- Resources that your team could contribute, including any funding

Please send submissions to info@atanniuvik.ca no later than July 31, 2023. Please share widely.
